Last autumn we had a seminar about the Swedish Materials Science beamline P21 at PETRA III, DESY. UU is now about to become affiliate members in CeXS, the consortium operating P21. We would therefore like to encourage you to use this excellent research tool!

The next proposal deadline is March 1st.

The mission of the Swedish Materials Science beamline (SMS) is to provide a state-of-the-art high-energy synchrotron radiation facility to the Swedish materials science community. Therefore a new beamline, P21, has been constructed and is in user mode since August 2019. The beamline consists of independent in-line and side branches. The in-line branch is optimized for the combination of wide and small angle scattering and imaging. The techniques are applied mainly for the in situ and in operando characterization of polycrystalline bulk materials and surface catalysis and electro-chemistry. The side-branch provides a broad bandwidth beam for materials physics applications including disordered and nano-structured materials.
